Lazar, Nash & Comrie Talk Pro-Am – Hockeytube.net caught up with a few NHL’ers who took part in the annual Salmon Arm Elite Hockey School’s Pro-Am Scholarship game. Calgary’s Curtis Lazar, Boston Bruin’s Riley Nash and Winnipeg Jet netminder Eric Comrie all lended their support to the fun-filled night featuring players from all levels.
Lazar who grew up playing hockey in Salmon Arm, is also assisting the hockey School along with Riley Nash who played Junior A hockey with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks where he was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers.
Eric Comrie, who played almost all of last season with the Manitoba Moose, made it to the NHL last season where he dressed for his first game in a Winnipeg Jet’s uniform. Comrie joked that he wasn’t going to come out of his net and try to score like former Canuck now turned Flame, Eddie Lack did last season!
All three players talked about how important it is for players to give back to the communities that supported them while growing up playing the game they loved. All the players were very accommodating and we’ll have more interviews thru the week.
