Fitzgerald Hit Blows Helmet Into Stands

Fitzgerald Hit Blows Helmet Into Stands – During an EIHL game between the Cardiff Devils and the Sheffield Steelers, Former (WHL) Seattle Thunderbird defenceman Zack Fitzgerald dished out a hit so big on Cardiff Devil Andrew Hotham that the Barrie, Ontario natives helmet went into the crowd. Now of course with super slo-mo you can see that Hotham hit it it with his stick…but that’s not going to be the story Sheffield fans tell (we wouldn’t either). You have to love the slo-mo reaction of the crowd…that was AWESOME!

Fitzgerald, a 6’2 215 lbs blueliner actually was a former Canuck and played one single game in the NHL with Vancouver back in 2007-2008.  He orginally hails from Two Harbours, Minnesota and in year with the AHL Albany River Rats he racked up 311 penalty mins!

Andrew Hotham and the Cardiff Devils would have the last laugh as they claimed the EIHL title with a big win over the Steelers.
