Chelios On Gretzky and Jagr – The name Chris Chelios for longtime hockey fans conjures up images of nasty defenceman who wouldn’t blink twice running your star player into the boards. He played the game with a chip on his shoulder and if he was on your team you loved him but most of the league wasn’t a fan. However in this interview we see a bit of a different Chelios…maybe even a kinder one dare we say who in the past has had no issues with ripping former players or teammates. Chelios is very complimentary of the Great One and Jagr who like himself is playing way into his 40’s.
You have to respect the man he went from being cut from his college team in San Diego to a Hockey Hall of Fame career and in doing so, played 1,651 games and amassed 185 goals with 763 assists for 948 points. But don’t ever forget that he played with a mean streak!
