Hockeytube.net sat down with Vernon Vipers Head Coach/G.M. Jason Williamson to talk about the team’s moves at the trade deadline. The Vernon Vipers shocked a number of fans by trading away three top forwards. Vernon sent Adam Tambellini, a possible second round NHL draft pick, to Surrey and Aaron Hadley to Nanaimo. Vernon also traded Pearce Eviston to Victoria. In return the Vipers get Mason Blacklock from Surrey plus future players from the Eagles, Clippers and Grizzlies.

Williamson told Hockeytube.net that it was an emotional and difficult day to say goodbye to those players.

Well wasn’t this night a great show! I feel so sorry for the team they have no direction, no system and now their top scorers have been traded. What is happening to such a great team with a great reputation. They are being humiliated by their lack of leadership. The past Viper system is no more. How come Jed is doing so well now. Look where Marcus sits with West Kelowna. Who cares? Seems only the fans care. The ones in control want it their way but when the dollars from the fans stop coming in then what? Players used to consider coming to the Vipers to play was an honor but good luck with that now!!
